• In 1962, J.C.R. Licklider , proposed the idea of a globally connected network of computers called the "Intergalactic Computer Network" (IGCN) in a series of memos. For send message to one defense system to another defence system.

·        In 1969 The University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Utah join to ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network). The main goal of this project was to connect the computers of various universities and the US Defense Ministry.

·        The TCP/IP protocol suite was developed by Vint Cerf and Robert Kahn in the 1970s for the U.S. Department of Defense's Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (DARPANET

·        Robert Kahn and Vint Cerf, often called the "fathers of the internet", created the architecture for the internet and designed the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

·        The first version of TCP/IP was created for ARPANET in 1975. 

·        In the mid-80s, another agency (National Science Foundation) created a new high capacity network called NSF NET which was more capable of ARPANET. The only drawback of NSFNET was that it allowed only academic research on its network, not any kind of private business.
